I was able to spend a full day in Washington, D.C. following a work conference in March 2016. I had been to the nation’s capital on a high school trip 20 years prior (almost to the day) and I didn’t want to revisit everything I had done before. I also didn’t want to come away with pictures I had already seen before. Further complicating my photo expedition was the fact that winter hasn’t quite left D.C. yet leaving a lot of brown grass, bare trees, and snow fences. However, there were a few buds and blooms I was able to incorporate into my pictures. In my next post I also took on the constraint of telling the story of my trip through only light.

These were taken March 11, 2016, a beautifully warm day!
